LitLove: Anniversary

Image
by Asha Sometime before I wake up I dream Of listening and talking to someone who cares Wishing for a home of understanding Amidst the hustling of my timely world Finding a hand to hold on Luck seems to listen to the song As it led me to this path of people With the same vision of giving back  and upholding others,  While Loving yourself, the truest melod By Raybert One day, I’m lost in the wilderness of the unforgiving world. Wandering on this jungle, I found myself running towards the forest of compassion. On its dense woodland, I found myself dipping in a lake with passionate people. And on that same night, I got a pack who taught me to live my life by rippling love. By Diego Interconnected Uknowlingly I entered Almost four years ago A place where I learned How to let myself go Let myself be me Without needing to be the best Ultimately, it let me see That in service I find rest My time is well spent With varied people And if there's time I could have lent I'm glad it's h...

LoveYourself Cebu Ushers in Batch Espada to Fight the Stigma

Image
By Ryan Taborada Twenty-one new volunteers from Batch Espada were welcomed to the LoveYourself family on February 16, 2020, at LoveYourself White House , in Cebu City. This fourth batch of volunteers in Cebu was already involved in the HIV advocacy completing 50 hours of volunteer work prior to the orientation. This gave every volunteer to get to know each other and develop the dedication of working in the advocacy.  “The orientation was a way to formally welcome Batch Espada volunteers who have already shown their commitment by rendering community hours before they were allowed to join the official orientation,” said Dennis Tagamolila, head of Cebu’s LoveU - the committee spearheading the event. The day’s agenda included an HIV Situationer from Atty. Orville Dela Cerna, which presented data on the state of HIV transmissions both globally and locally. Tagamolila then continued with a discussion on volunteerism, invigorating the passion they have for the advocacy. Soon after LoveU m...

Finding Sanctuary: Batch Caim is LoveYourself’s Batch 24

Image
By Carlo Ando LoveYourself welcomes its newest batch of volunteers on November 16, 2019, at the SAP Office located at Cyberscape Gamma, Ortigas, Pasig City. There were 45 fresh faces that completed Batch Caim as LoveYourself’s third and last batch for 2019.  Batch Caim is the organization’s 24th batch in its 8-year run.  A quiet Saturday turns into an insightful learning experience as the new volunteers were immediately immersed into the organization’s culture of unconditional positive regard.  The safe space culture within LoveYourself allows volunteers, clients, and partners to be the best version of themselves without reservation or fear of judgment and discrimination.  The creation of safe spaces is a key ingredient in driving the mission of LoveYourself - to embrace and affirm one’s self-worth. The activities truly fit the name of the new batch, Caim from a Gaelic term associated with protection and sanctuary, so that volunteers may exemplify the practice of ca...

They were the hubs and halls that were witnesses to the growth of LoveYo...

By Jean Natividad Ask anyone what the noblest profession is, and there's a good chance they'll say "educator." It should come as no surprise. Educators, after all, are assigned the Herculean task of shaping people's minds. While not all bearing the title are able to live up to the high standards of their calling, there are those who go above and beyond to fulfill their duties. In LoveYourself, educators exist, too. Counselors, for example, put hours into training, so they can educate their families, friends, and clients about HIV. What most people outside the organization may not be as familiar with, however, is Love U: The Corporate University of LoveYourself, which serves as the learning hub for all of the organization's stakeholders. Ruben, Aaron, Danvic, and Leo of Love U: The Corporate University of LoveYourself Through Love U, individuals inside and outside the organization can expand their knowledge about HIV and matters like SOGIE (sexual orientation, ...
